Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong leaves Russia after being released from his contract.
Still just 24, Emmanuel Frimpong is once again a free agent.
Ghana Soccernet have announced that the former Arsenal midfielder has been released from his contract at Russia side Ufa.
Frimpong joined Ufa at the start of the 2014 season. He played 17 times in his debut year at the club, but he’s been restricted to just eight appearances and 426 minutes this campaign.
He’s has been struggling with injuries, and now the parties have decided to call it quits.
Cliff Opoku, labelled a “special aide” to the footballer, told Ghana Soccernet:
The club and Frimpomg decided it best for him to seek treatment outside Russia for a small injury which has kept him on the bench so far this season.
Frimpong who never settled in Russia is now looking to further his career and still harbours ambitions to play for the Ghanaian national team.
Emmanuel would like to extend his sincere gratitude to UFA and the fans for his time with the club and wish them all the best in the future.
