Sterling left Liverpool in a £49m deal last summer with the
two clubs agreeing a number of clauses - one of which related to
European progression
Manchester City's Champions League success has seen Liverpool receive a cash windfall. City secured their spot in the semi-final of the competition after beating Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad.
Raheem Sterling was not involved against the French champions as he continues his recovery from a groin problem after a frustrating first season with City.
The England winger left Anfield in acrimonious circumstances last summer in a £49million deal.
A number of clauses were agreed when the switch was confirmed, including one relating to City's progression in Europe.

Should City win the competition this term, or at another stage during Sterling's time at the club, further triggers will be activated.
The 21-year-old is way ahead of schedule following his injury and could even feature against Chelsea this weekend.
